Built in soft start facility increases the speed of rotation gradually, which does not allow teflon magnetic bit to slip from its centre. There is an easy restart facility for restarting the teflon stirring bit in case of slip without disturbing the speed control knob. A continuously variable stepless speed control is also provided. Agar in Petri dish is inoculated with bacteria.Then, sensitivity discs are dispensed onto dish. After incubation, bacterial growth covers dish except for circular inhibited zone around each disc. Zone diameter is a function of antibiotic strength. Light from base passes up through transparent and semitransparent portions of agar. Adjust the Intensity of the light source by ‘Bright’ Knob on the panel as per the requirement. Usually low intensity for Zone of Inhibition & High Intensity for Zone of Exhibition. Adjustable rubber belt sliding, facilitates positioning of dish relative to light source. Light then passes to reflecting mirror which reflects image on Viewing Glass with horizontal line mark on it. Arc from one edge of circle zone is adjusted tangent with line on Viewing Glass by the ‘Slider Knob’. Push “ ZERO” switch on the front panel to get the reading Zero on digital display.
